Town of Epirus, 70 km north of Ioannina, located amphitheatrically, on the slope of Mount Trapezitsa, in the Pindos mountain range, overlooking the plain, where the river Aoos meets the river Voidomatis and Sarandaporos.
Points of Interest: Vikos – Aoos National Park. Thermal Baths of Kavasilon & Amarantos. The Gorge of Vikos & Aoos. The mountain of Tymfi. The villages of Zagoria & Pogoni.
The valley is used for agriculture. Konitsa is a regional center for many small villages of Pindos and is a good starting point for tourists who want to explore the mountains of Pindos or who want to go rafting on the Aoos river or paragliding.
It has shops, schools and hospitals.
